Monumental Architecture and Urban Planning: Streets and Roads
Streets and roads were mostly used to travel from town to town but more advanced civilizations had streets in their cities which they would use for drainage. Some cities like Hat-Senusret-Hotep were paved with baked clay tiles. The surface sloped towards the middle of the street, where a drain made of stone ran down the street. Road systems were also built for trade
The roads and streets intersected at right angles. There were covered drains along the road. Houses were built on either side of the roads and streets.
