Veneration in the Mediterranean
Often times in Mediterranean civilizations such as the Greeks, ancestors were venerated in form of storytelling. Characters of Greek mythology are venerations of important people who have attained the status of gods and heroes such as Hercules and Poseidon.
Later in the classical era the Romans adorned the catholic saints as a form of veneration.
