Elaborate Weaving
Many women in ancient times did not receive credit for the arts or art related activities, but there is many proofs that show women were the ones that did the elaborate weaving and had elaborate weaving skills.
Women had outlets to their creative expression, including ceramics, basketry, and particularly weaving. From Noble-women to commoners to even slaves wove as a pastime or to earn a living.
The importance of women weavers is suggested in the picture to the left. Its large panel features a scene of women working on looms.
