Veneration of Ancestors in the Andean area
Incan and Andean peoples had very bizarre methods of Ancestor Veneration. These
people would mummify their deceased and store them in tombs and crypts.
Then, during the month of the dead (November) they would be brought out
for display, worship and sacrifice. They were adorned in colorful clothes and
feathers and were offered food and drink which was traditionally burnt.
